Matt was born in Baltimore, Maryland, in 1963, and moved to Howard County, Maryland in 1976. He graduated from Centennial HIgh School, Ellicott City, MD, 1981. He earned a B.S. in Commerce from the University of Virginia in 1984, and a Master’s in Business Administration from the University of Baltimore in 1986. He passed the CPA exam on his first attempt, 1984.
Matt worked for several Big Eight accounting firms during college and immediately after. He started his investment career with Dean Witter Reynolds in 1986, and started his own tax and investment practice in 1989. He advises individuals and families on their overall financial well-being. Retirement and estate planning are his focus.
Matt has one son, Matthew Jr. In his free time, Matt likes bicycling, fitness, travel, current events, history, crossword puzzles, pro sports, trivia, and movies.
